Estelí Preschool Construction

With the construction of a preschool in La Chiriza, Estelí, 150 children benefited and can now access early education in this educational centre, providing them with better physical conditions in classrooms, playground areas, healthy meals and adequate sanitation.

Children attending this preschool range from 2 to 6 years old, mostly from poor families living in neighbourhoods of District I (southwest of the town of Estelí). The social role of the preschool is very important because it ensures education for vulnerable children and helps them to develop their potential.

“Now I know my rights and how to demand them. I am a more expressive teenager. I have more tools to make daily decisions. My friends look to me for advice, and that makes me feel important.”

Our History
in Nicaragua

Christian Children’s Fund of Canada has been working with communities in Nicaragua since 1994. We work in partnership with the Government of Nicaragua, private sector and local organizations to help improve life for children, their families and their communities in five key sectors: education; health and nutrition; sustainable economic growth; strengthening community organizations; water; as well as sanitation and hygiene.
